General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise responsiveness on the one hand and increase bottoming-out reserves on the other. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air gap for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through tumble finishing:
During tumble finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the component upperfläche through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air gap in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
