General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and adherence to the correct air chamber for the correspondinge vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with abrasive media specially adapted for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative motion between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the processing, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced technicians at Wilbers and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
