General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. Crucial is the combination of the "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forköl, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the correspondinge vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are located together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern comes with a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
