General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forköl, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle, is very important. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are located together with an abrasive body specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body, and through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
