General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise the response behaviour on the one hand, and to increase the bottoming out reserves on the other. The combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forköl and adherence to the correct air gap for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with a grinding medium specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface. The result of the processing is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each forkfedern set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air gap in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
