General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear forkfedern, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise the response and, on the other hand, increase the bottoming resistance. Crucially, the combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forköl and the observance of the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle corresponding. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with a grinding body specially matched for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding body, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, there is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
