Product details

Wilbers fork spring kit, progressive, for Aprilia, type KV, from model year 2020-

(Please order fork oil separately)

General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. Crucially, the 'Zero Friction' fork springs must be combined with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle must be observed. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.

For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:

During slide grinding, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are located together with an abrasive medium specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.

The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.

For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring kit includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
