General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially, it's important to combine the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and to observe the correct air gap for the corresponding vehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the Motorsport Team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially matched for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface. At the end of the process, there is a fine, polished surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air gap in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
