General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding respective vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the Motorsport Team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component parts to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specially matched for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, there is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs comes with a recommendation for the viscosity viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel handlebars.
