General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive forkfeder to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the forkfedern "Zero Friction" with the specially developed Wilbers forköl, as well as observing the correct air gap for the correspondinge vehicle, is very important. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the parts to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with an abrasive medium specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium, leading to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche through constant rubbing. At the end of processing, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern comes with a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air gap in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
