General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the finest and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially, the "Zero Friction" fork springs should be combined with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, and the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle must be observed. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the workpiece surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the handlebars.
