General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise the response characteristics on the one hand and increase bottoming resistance on the other. Crucially, the 'Zero Friction' fork springs must be combined with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, and the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle must be observed. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the componentes to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive medium specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium and, through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
