General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response behaviour on the one hand, and to increase bottoming resistance on the other. The combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle, is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specifically tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
