Product details

General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the correspondinge vehicle, is crucial. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.

For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon-fork springs, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentes to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupper by constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.

Note: please order the fork oil separately.
