General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response characteristics and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air gap for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome silicon fork springs, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air gap in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
