General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Very important is the combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the demcorrespondinge vehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual adjustment can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the processing, there is a fine, glossy surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction of surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
