General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase the bottoming resistance. Crucially important is the combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, in special cases, it is possible to achieve individual adjustment by altering the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, along with an abrasive medium specifically designed for this purpose, are placed in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface. At the end of the process, a fine, polished surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the handlebar.
