Wilbers progressive fork spring set for Kawasaki GPZ 1100, Type ZX 1100 B, model year 83 (fork oil please order separately), with ABE according to the usage list.

General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially, the "Zero Friction" fork springs must be combined with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, and the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle must be observed. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.

For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.


"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:

During slide grinding, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are located together with an abrasive medium specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.

The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.

For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.


Each fork spring set includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the handlebars.
