General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response characteristics and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air gap for the respective vehicle is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through tumble finishing:
During tumble finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive body specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body, leading to a smoothing of the componentupper surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air gap height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
