General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear forkfedern, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive forkfedern to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of "Zero Friction" forkfedern with the specially developed Wilbers forköl, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the correspondinge vehicle. If desired, individual adjustment can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon-forkfedern from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers forkfedern, are placed together with abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers forkfedern, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of forkfedern includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forköl and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
