General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring in order to optimise response behaviour and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual adjustment can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componentes to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose, are located in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
