General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness on the one hand, and to increase bottoming-out reserves on the other. Crucially, the "Zero Friction" fork springs must be combined with the specially developed Wilbers forkoil, and the correct air chamber for the correspondinge vehicle must be observed. If desired, individual adjustment can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the componente to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche through constant rubbing. The result of the process is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the forkoil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback to the front wheel.
