General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport use, recommend we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucial is the combination of the 'Zero Friction' fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, recommend we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the `component` to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the `componentupper` surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the processing, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air chamber height in the `fork`. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the `front wheel`.
