General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the finest and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response and, on the other hand, increase resistance against bottoming out. Crucial is the combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air gap for the corresponding vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative motion between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupper surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air gap in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback to the front wheel.
