General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. In touring and touring-sport recommend, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming-out reserves. Very important is the combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the demcorrespondinge vehicle. If desired, in special cases, an individual tuning can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media and, through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the workpiece surface. At the end of the processing, there is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
