General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport recommend, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, increase the bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber. For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with a grinding medium specially tuned for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator. The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium, and the constant rubbing together leads to a smoothing of the component surface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved. For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
