General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, at the same time, increase bottoming-out reserves. Crucially, the combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is important. If desired, individual adjustment can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber. For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs, which were co-developed with the motorsport team."ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing: During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive body specifically tailored for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator. The vibrations of the container create relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface. At the end of the process, a fine, gleaming surface is achieved. For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means minimising friction = ZERO friction.Each set of fork springs comes with a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.Note: please order the fork oil separately.
