General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response on the one hand and increase bottoming resistance on the other. Crucially, the combination of "Zero Friction" fork springs with specially developed Wilbers fork oil and adherence to the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle is important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are located together with an abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the component surface through constant rubbing. At the end of processing, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimum riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
