General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear __AT_GLOSSA_RY_8__ springs, made from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness on the one hand and increase bottoming-out reserves on the other. The combination of the "Zero Friction" fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through mass finishing:
During mass finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupper surface due to constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, glossy surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring kit includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
