General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers you progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise response on the one hand and increase bottoming resistance on the other. Crucially, the 'Zero Friction' fork springs must be combined with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, and the correct air chamber for the demcorrespondinge vehicle must be observed. If desired, in special cases, an individual setup can be achieved by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the components to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, and through constant rubbing, lead to a smoothing of the componentupperfläche. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
