General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport recommend, we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Crucially important is the combination of the 'Zero Friction' fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding (mass finishing):
During slide grinding, the workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive medium specially tuned for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium, and through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the component surface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air chamber height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
