General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring sport, we generally recommend a progressive fork fork spring to optimise the response and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. Very important is the combination of "Zero Friction" fork fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" Friction Reduction through Trowalising (Vibratory Finishing):
During vibratory finishing, the component parts to be processed, such as Wilbers fork fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specifically adapted for this application in a vibrating container, the so-called trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container generate a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, and through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the component surface. At the end of the process, there is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers fork fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork fork springs includes a recommendation regarding the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork fork. These values were determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel handlebar.
