General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring, we generally recommend a progressive fork fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective vehicle, is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers fork fork springs, are located together with an abrasive medium specifically designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive medium and lead to a smoothing of the component surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the processing, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air chamber height in the fork fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback on the front wheel.
