General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and sport touring recommend we generally recommend a progressive fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase reserves against bottoming out. Crucially, the combination of 'Zero Friction' fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil is important, as is observing the correct air gap for the respective vehicle. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air gap.
For motorsport applications, recommend we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed with the Motorsport Team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through tumble finishing:
During tumble finishing, the component to be processed, such as Wilbers fork springs, are placed together with abrasive media specially adapted for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a vibratory trough.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the componentupper surface through constant rubbing. The result is a fine, shiny surface.
For Wilbers fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means minimising friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the air gap height in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
