General Description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we generally recommend a progressive fork fork spring to optimise the response characteristics and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of the "Zero Friction" fork fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil, as well as observing the correct air chamber for the respective corresponding vehicle, is very important. If desired, an individual setup can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend Wilbers' very lightweight linear chrome-silicon fork fork springs, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through slide grinding:
During slide grinding, the component parts to be processed, such as Wilbers fork fork springs, are located together with a grinding medium specially designed for this purpose in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the grinding medium, and through constant rubbing against each other, lead to a smoothing of the componentupper surface. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each set of fork fork springs includes a recommendation for the viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel.
