General description

Depending on the application, Wilbers offers progressive or linear fork fork springs, manufactured from the best and highest quality chrome-silicon steel. For touring and touring-sport applications, we typically recommend a progressive fork fork spring to optimise responsiveness and, on the other hand, to increase bottoming resistance. The combination of "Zero Friction" fork fork springs with the specially developed Wilbers fork oil and observing the correct air chamber for the corresponding respective vehicle is very important. If desired, individual tuning can be achieved in special cases by changing the air chamber.
For motorsport applications, we recommend the very light linear chrome-silicon fork fork springs from Wilbers, which were co-developed by the motorsport team.

"ZERO friction" friction reduction through vibratory finishing:
During vibratory finishing, the component workpieces to be processed, such as Wilbers fork fork springs, are placed together with an abrasive media specially tailored for this application in a vibrating container, known as a trough vibrator.
The vibrations of the container create a relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive media, leading to a smoothing of the component workpiece upper surface through constant rubbing. At the end of the process, a fine, shiny surface is achieved.
For Wilbers fork fork springs, this reduction in surface roughness means a minimisation of friction = ZERO friction.

Each fork fork spring set includes a recommendation for the viscosity viscosity of the fork oil and the height of the air chamber in the fork fork. These values have been determined by experienced Wilbers technicians and ensure optimal riding comfort and feedback at the front wheel handlebars.
