General description

GASS RS-A aluminium rim – State-of-the-art technology from OZ Motorbike:

Two decades of experience and innovation from the racing experience of top MotoGP and World Superbike teams go into the production of the GASS RS-A 6-spoke rims.

The GASS RS-A rim is a further development of the well-known PIEGA aluminium forged rim. The newer GASS RS-A rims are manufactured using the "FE method" (finite element) – achieving weight minimisation while simultaneously improving stability and rigidity.

The weight reduction reduces the moment of inertia, which in turn leads to improved acceleration and brake power. The gyroscopic effect when turning is also reduced – handling is optimised, making the bike more agile and manageable.

Visually, the weight saving of the GASS RS-A is immediately apparent: typical for the new rim are the visible cut-outs on the outer edge of the rim rim – an optical enhancement of the rim.

Weight saving example:
The 2015 Yamaha R1 uses “light” OEM magnesium rims.
The OZ PIEGA saves approx. 1.3 kg per set compared to the R1 OEM magnesium rim.
The GASS RS-A further reduces the weight here. The set weighs around 2.05 kg less compared to the R1 OEM magnesium rim!

The rims are delivered completely ready for installation: including bal bearings, angle valves, spacer bushes, rear sprocket carrier for twin-sided swingarms. For twin-sided swingarms, the chain sprocket must be selected and ordered separately from the extensive range.
