The CRASH PAD® Classic - protective device with guide properties
To minimise damage, our Crash Pad has been equipped with an impact insert, a shock-absorbing element that can absorb energy.
Thanks to a constructive trick, the impact pad, calculated with the help of load simulation, yields particularly damped and thus relieves attachment, bracket and the screw connection of the construction.
This property protects the motorcycle in the area of the Crash Pad's attachment more effectively from damage. In the case of minor slides, simply replacing the inner part is usually sufficient.
The aluminium outer shell is machined from solid material and has a glossy coated surface. The rounded contour of the Crash Pad head absorbs bumps in the road, effectively preventing the sliding vehicle from getting caught on road edges (manhole covers etc.).
Thanks to the higher plastic content, the weight of the outer shell has been reduced by 30%.
As with the previous version, the grinding surface, offset from the centre of impact, generates a strong counter-rotating torque that keeps the sliding vehicle in its direction.
The computer simulation serves as a basis for calculation and illustrates the force progression in the event of a fall. Many years of experience with crashes confirm this function.
