The CRASH PAD® Classic - protective device with guide propertiesTo minimise damage, our Crash Pad features an impact insert, a shock-absorbing element capable of absorbing energy.
Thanks to a clever design trick, the impact pad, calculated with the aid of stress simulation, yields in a particularly dampened manner, thereby relieving attachment, bracket and the construction's screw connections.
This characteristic more effectively protects the motorcycle in the area of the Crash Pad's mounting from damage. In the event of minor slides, replacing the inner part is usually sufficient.
The aluminium outer shell is machined from solid material, and the surface is gloss coated. The rounded contour of the Crash Pad head absorbs road surface impacts, effectively preventing the sliding vehicle from snagging on road steps (manhole covers, etc.). Due to the higher plastic content, the weight of the outer shell has been reduced by 30%.
As with the previous version, the grinding surface, offset from the impact centre, generates a strong counter-torque that keeps the sliding vehicle in its direction.
Computer simulation serves as the basis for calculation and illustrates the force progression in a fall. Many years of experience with falls confirm this function.
