The CRASH PAD® Classic – protective device with guide propertiesTo minimise damage, our Crash Pad features an impact-absorbing element, the impact insert, which can absorb energy.
Thanks to a design trick, the impact pad, calculated with the help of load simulation, yields in a particularly dampened manner, thereby relieving attachment, bracket and the screw connection of the construction.
This property more effectively protects the motorcycle in the area of the Crash Pad's mounting from damage. In the event of minor slides, simply replacing the inner part is usually sufficient.
The aluminium outer shell is machined from solid material and has a glossy coated surface. The rounded contour of the Crash Pad head absorbs road surface irregularities, effectively preventing the sliding vehicle from snagging on road steps (manhole covers, etc.). The higher plastic content reduced the weight of the outer shell by 30%.
As with the previous version, the grinding surface, offset from the impact centre, generates a strong anti-rotation torque that keeps the sliding vehicle on course.
The computer simulation serves as the basis for calculation and illustrates the force progression in the event of a fall. Many years of __AT_GLOGLOSSARY_1__ with falls confirm this function.
