The CRASH PAD® Classic - protective device with guide propertiesTo minimise damage, our Crash Pad features an impact insert, a shock-absorbing element capable of absorbing energy.
Thanks to a clever design, the impact pad, calculated with the aid of load simulations, yields with exceptional damping, thereby relieving attachment, bracket and the fastening of the structure.
This feature more effectively protects the motorcycle in the area of the Crash Pad's mounting from damage. In the event of minor slides, replacing the inner part is usually sufficient.
The aluminium outer shell is machined from solid material and has a glossy coated surface. The rounded contour of the Crash Pad head absorbs road surface impacts, effectively preventing the sliding vehicle from snagging on road irregularities (manhole covers, etc.).
Thanks to the higher plastic content, the weight of the outer shell has been reduced by 30%.
As with the previous version, the grinding surface, offset from the centre of impact, generates a strong counter-torque that keeps the sliding vehicle on course.
Computer simulation serves as the basis for calculation and illustrates the force distribution in the event of a fall. Many years of experience with crashes confirm this function.
