The CRASH PAD® Classic - Protective device with guide characteristicsTo minimise damage, our Crash Pad features an impact insert, a shock-absorbing element capable of absorbing energy.
Thanks to a clever design, the impact pad, calculated with the aid of load simulation, yields with particular damping, thus relieving stress on the attachment, bracket and the construction's screw connections.
This feature more effectively protects the motorcycle in the area of the Crash Pad's mounting from damage. In the event of minor slides, usually only the inner part needs to be replaced.
The aluminium outer shell is machined from solid material and has a glossy coated surface. The rounded contour of the Crash Pad head absorbs bumps in the road, effectively preventing the sliding vehicle from snagging on road steps (manhole covers, etc.).
Thanks to the higher plastic content, the weight of the outer shell has been reduced by 30%.
As with the previous version, the grinding surface, offset from the impact centre, generates a strong counter-rotating torque that keeps the sliding vehicle on track.
Computer simulation serves as the basis for calculations and illustrates the force progression in the event of a crash. Many years of experience with crashes confirm this function.
