The CRASH PAD® Classic - Protective device with guide propertiesTo minimise damage, our Crash Pad has been fitted with an impact insert, a shock-absorbing element that can absorb energy.
Thanks to a clever design trick, the Impact Pad, calculated with the help of load simulation, yields with particular damping, thus relieving attachment, bracket and the screw connection of the construction.
This feature more effectively protects the motorcycle in the area where the Crash Pad is mounted from damage. In the event of light slides, simply replacing the inner part is usually sufficient.
The aluminium outer shell is machined from solid material and has a glossy coated surface. The rounded contour of the Crash Pad head absorbs road bumps, effectively preventing the sliding vehicle from snagging on road features (manhole covers etc.). Thanks to the higher plastic content, the weight of the outer shell has been reduced by 30%.
As with the previous version, the grinding surface, offset from the centre of impact, generates a strong counter-torque that keeps the sliding vehicle in direction.
Computer simulation serves as the basis for calculation and illustrates the force distribution in the event of a crash. Many years of experience with crashes confirm this function.
