The CRASH PAD® Classic - Protective device with guide properties
To minimise damage, our Crash Pad has been equipped with an impact insert, a shock-absorbing element capable of absorbing energy.
Thanks to a clever design trick, the Impact Pad, calculated with the help of load simulations, yields with particular damping, thus relieving attachment, bracket and the screw connection of the structure.
This property more effectively protects the motorcycle in the area of the Crash Pad's mounting from damage. In the event of minor slides, replacing the inner part is usually sufficient.
The aluminium outer shell is machined from solid material and the surface is coated to a high sheen. The rounded contour of the Crash Pad head absorbs road surface changes, effectively preventing the sliding vehicle from getting caught on road imperfections (manhole covers, etc.). The higher plastic content has reduced the weight of the outer shell by 30%.
As with the previous version, the grinding surface, offset from the centre of impact, generates a strong counter-torque that maintains the direction of the sliding vehicle.
The computer simulation serves as the basis for calculation and illustrates the force progression in the event of a fall. Many years of experience with crashes confirm this function.
