The upper fuel tank cover replaces the original part using the original mounting points. The fuel tank cover connects the two upper fairing halves and gives the V4 R an even more aggressive look. Naturally, the Ilmberger carbon part is provided with cut-outs for engine ventilation. The carbon part is delivered with a matte finish and thus perfectly matches the partially standard or Ducati Performance offered matte carbon parts. The focus is on weight savings (typically a saving of approx. 70% compared to the original component) and higher rigidity. The carbon part was manufactured entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, as is customary for us, subsequently coated with a clear plastic coating for protection against environmental influences. This plastic coating enormously surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability.
