Ilmberger carbon mudguard rear GS, glossy carbon, with ABE according to the usage list, for BMW R1200GS, model year 2004-2012

General Description

The rear wheel cover for R 1200 GS models with pannier rack and ESA suspension, designed for maximum splash protector, is bolted to the vehicle's cardan housing using the included screws. This brilliant and simple fastening method has been confirmed and protected by the German Patent Office. The length of the rear wheel cover has been chosen not only to significantly reduce the soiling of the motorcycle, but also your shock absorber will benefit from the relief from stone chips, dirt, and "sandblasting". Specifically, the service life of the seal and piston rod of the shock absorber is significantly increased by fitting an efficient rear wheel cover. A special clamp kit for the original GS pannier racks is included in the scope of delivery. The special shaping of the rear wheel cover significantly reduces the soiling of the motorcycle by the rear wheel. The specific shape of the cover is model-related, taking into account standard chassis or tire variants. The carbon part has been manufactured entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, in the next step, as is customary for us, coated with a clear plastic finish to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating far surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability. But the coating not only scores technically, it also significantly enhances the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure. The clamps for the pannier rack system included in the scope of delivery must be fitted to create sufficient clearance for the rear wheel cover when the suspension compresses.
