General Description

The rear wheel guard designed for maximum splash protector for R 1200 GS models with pannier rack and ESA suspension is screwed to the vehicle's drive shaft housing using the supplied screws. This screw fastening is so ingenious and simple that it has been confirmed and protected by the German Patent Office. The length of the rear wheel guard has been chosen to not only significantly reduce the contamination of the motorcycle, but also your shock absorber will appreciate the protection from stone chips, dirt, and "sandblasting". Specifically, the service life of the seal and piston of the shock absorber is significantly increased by fitting an efficient rear wheel guard.
In the scope of delivery, a special clamp kit for the original GS pannier racks is included.
The special design of the rear wheel guard significantly reduces the contamination of the motorcycle by rear wheel. The specific shape of the guard is model-specific, ensuring that standard suspension or tire variants are taken into account. The carbon part was manufactured completely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines, and in the next step, as is usual for us, coated with a clear plastic coating to protect against environmental influences.
This plastic coating vastly surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability. But the coating not only scores technically; it also clearly emphasizes the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
The clamps included in the scope of delivery for the pannier rack system must be installed to create sufficient clearance for the rear wheel guard during suspension compression.
