The carbon pillion seat cover for the BMW S 1000 XR from model year 2020 replaces the original component using the original mounting points.The focus is on weight saving (typically around 70% saving compared to the original component) and increased stiffness. The carbon part was manufactured entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, as is customary for us, subsequently coated with a clear plastic coating for protection against environmental influences. This plastic coating significantly surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability. However, the coating not only scores points technically, but also significantly enhances the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
