General Description

The rear wheel cover, designed for maximum splash protector, for the R1200GS and GS Adventure models without pannier racks and without ESA suspension, is screwed onto the vehicle's cardan housing using the supplied screws. This screw connection is so ingenious and simple that it has been confirmed and protected by the German Patent Office. The length of the rear wheel cover has been chosen not only to significantly reduce the soiling of the motorcycle, but also your shock absorber will be pleased with the relief from stone chips, dirt, and 'sandblasting'. Specifically, the service life of the seal and piston rod of the shock absorber is significantly increased by fitting an efficient rear wheel cover. The special shape of the rear wheel cover considerably reduces the soiling of the motorcycle by the rear wheel. The respective shape of the cover is chosen model-specifically to accommodate standard suspension or tire variants. The carbon part has been manufactured entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, in the next step, as is customary for us, coated with a clear plastic finish to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating vastly surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability. However, the coating not only scores technically, but it also clearly highlights the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure once again.
