General Description

The rear mudguard for the BMW R 1300 GS is a unique product on the market. It was entirely developed by Ilmberger and features an innovative, patented screw connection.

Here, the innovative BDC material is used, giving the component a completely new and individual touch. The surface of each BDC part is unique and resembles marble. BDC is also laminated by hand at Ilmberger and cured in several stages in an autoclave. The material not only impresses with its exciting appearance but also with its technical properties. The different fibres scatter the incident light, creating an unprecedented reflection.

The final clear coat on this component is in a silky matt version, emphasising the luxurious sporty look of the component.

To optimally protect this high-quality material from all kinds of environmental influencess, we, as the world's only carbon manufacturer, use a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. In combination with our clear coat, this provides an unprecedented and unique depth effect, which particularly highlights the high quality of the material.
